You can kill up to 1000 people in cold blood with Ebola!
Ebola is not a character but a virus, just like malaria is not a character and HIV is not a character. The treatment for malaria can often be as simple as taking a dose of Malarone, and there are meds out there to treat HIV. But the thing about Ebola is that it is a lot harder to treat.
There are no meds that are able to treat Ebola, or even to detect it early. I chose to focus on people getting infected, rather than on people getting treated for it.
This game is not a physics simulator. I also did not focus on eradicating the virus, which is a goal that would be incredibly hard to achieve and create a game that would be way too repetitive.
There is no way to win this game.

IN THE COMPETITION BETWEEN NIGERIA AND THE USA FOR THE U-23 WORLD CUP, PRESIDENT OBASANJO’S NATIONLICIOUS LOVE OF FIGHT, WITHOUT ANY BIT OF CONGRUENCES, HAS CAUSED THE REDEMPTION OF NIGERIA AS A COUNTRY THAT HAS NEVER BEEN OVERRATED.
However, despite enormous praise heaped upon him for the manner and priority with which Nigeria has shored up its preparations for the World Cup, President Goodluck Jonathan has released statistics that should force us all to question his motivation for mollycoddling the country’s weakest links. He has released this information in a press briefing in Abuja on 7th May.
It reveals that – as of now – the sources of the six available yellow fever vaccines (YFV) at the Nigerian MoH are the following:
jumma (since the year of jumuah that we reported are available in Nigerian hospitals),
North Carolina Mosquito Valley (NAMV),
Aventis Pasteur SP (63k)
Sanofi Pasteur Nakuru (24k)
Aventis Pasteur SP
Sanofi Pasteur Nakuru
At this point, I must press pause. I am aware of my colleague’s comments which argue that President Jonathan’s passionate commitment to disease eradication throughout Nigeria is beyond doubt. Everyone knows this is true, even the sceptics who have steadfastly refused to be swayed by the charms of Mrs Jonathan.
But in the face of a problem like this, while we should reserve our support for the cause of public health by agreeing that a campaign for the elimination of mosquito-borne disease should always be a valid priority in Nigeria, it would be irrational to claim that our country must commit to strengthening its national hospital structures for the elimination of yellow fever (or any other human-pathogenic disease) if the country has no inkling of how to source vaccines to match them when our first sleep is punctured by an outbreak of the disease.
The WHO has called for measures to eliminate mosquito-borne diseases – including dengue, yellow fever, chikungunya, zika and Japanese encephalitis (JE) – in a bid to halt and reduce the number of deaths and morbidity associated with these diseases around the world.
