RandSaver is an application that will let you enjoy your collection of screensavers by selecting a screensaver at random whenever Windows requests a screensaver.
Your Windows screensaver collection is always there to be seen, even if you are away from your desktop.
However, if you are away from your computer and your screensaver collection is not visible then you’ll be glad to know that you can use RandSaver.
It will allow you to specify which screensavers should be kept visible and which ones should be hidden.
One simple click will allow you to select a screensaver at random and then you’ll have as many hours as desired, until you turn RandSaver off or, and this is of course optional, you change back to whatever screensaver was active before.
How to Use:
You should download the executable file from the RandSaver website and run it.
It will extract the windows screensaver file associations and if you do not wish to change them when RandSaver is on, then you should delete the data.
A RandSaver.ini file will be created in the same directory where you’ve downloaded RandSaver.
You can have as many screensavers visible at once as you want, you’ll simply have to enable or disable screensavers as you please using RandSaver.
When RandSaver is run for the first time, an RandSaver.ini file will be created in the same directory as the executable file.
The ini file contains information about which screensaver to use when Windows requests a screensaver and the amount of time to keep the screensaver active for.
However, if you don’t wish to use RandSaver or if you’d like to use a different screensaver collection then you can modify the ini file by typing the path to the screensaver folder as a value to ScreensaversDirectory.
This value will contain the path to the directory where your screensavers are installed.
You can modify the value to the folder where you wish to save your screensavers but remember, even if your favourite screensaver collection is in a different folder, you still have to modify the ini file.
You may modify the value of ScreensaversDirectory by typing a full path as value.
The screensavers may be installed in any format – if a screensaver exe is not present, then RandSaver will be unable to recognise it.

RandSaver screensavers are one line screen savers without any special effects or animations. The idea of using a screensaver is that the monitor is on while the PC is off, saving electricity and resources.
RandSaver screensavers are non-interactive and do not have ‘effects’ or ‘animations’. If you don’t like the screensavers produced by RandSaver, try one of the other screen savers that are more complex but may produce screensavers you like.

Please note that you cannot add a screensaver to this folder if it is already present when RandSaver runs the first time.
Installation:
The screensaver has been installed in RandSaver/screensavers/screensaver_name.txt or you may include a screensaver_.txt file in the RandSaver/screensavers folder and use the default path.
Installation of the screensaver is easy. First, you run RandSaver and uncheck everything (just leave the boxes for ini file).
At the beginning of RandSaver there is a Preview Screen Saver menu:
There you find a selection with a list of screensavers that can be added to the RandSaver folders during this operation.
You may select the screensaver and press Continue. If you like the screensaver, select it by using the use selection menu and pressing OK.
You may also select the number of times RandSaver must run to get the screensaver when RandSaver starts next time.
The number of times RandSaver must run is entered in the main window and saved in RandSaver.ini for next time.
RandSaver will create the ini file in the same directory where RandSaver is installed or where you set the screensaver directory in the RandSaver options window.
Once you’ve selected a screensaver to add to the RandSaver ini file, click OK.
Each screensaver has an ini file which you should inspect (do not modify manually) at least during first installation. The ini file contains the following:
